WTI Joplin Campus IT students practice tearing down a computer and putting it back together. Assembling and disassembling computers is an important part of our Computer Technology Program. The students get excellent troubleshooting experience because they must test all the functions of the system after it’s rebuilt. Keep up the excellent work!

Welcome to the instructor spotlight series! We wanted to introduce you to some of our instructors. So keep checking back to our social media pages to learn more about our wonderful instructors from each of our five campuses!

Sara has been with WTI for 2 years as a Medical Assistant instructor. She has been a great addition to WTI, her work experience in the medical field, along with her passion for helping students reach their goals, has been outstanding. She truly wants all students to succeed and is diligent in helping, coaching, and motivating them as they progress onto externship and beyond. She’s been a valued addition to our team!
Sara is also an alumnus of the WTI class of 2008. She was hired directly from her externship. While she worked for the same company for over 10 years, her role at her previous company gave her new and different levels of experience in the Medical assistant world. Which ranged from Medical Assistant supervisor to web portal administrator. Sara said she wanted to become an instructor because she wanted to share her knowledge and help train the next round of Medical Assistants.
She says the most rewarding thing about being a WTI instructor is seeing faces light up as students learn and understand a new skill or concept. Sara encourages students who are interested in pursuing their technical education, to identify the reason or motivation behind their decision to pursue a higher education. She says “Ask your family members, friends, and instructors to remind you of the “why” behind that decision, especially during those times when challenges arise. See those challenges as a tool to learn from, not a roadblock. Never give up! Do not say “I can’t” or “It’s too hard” when you are learning something new. Change your way of thinking and say “I can” or “I’m going to keep trying”. Never stop learning!”
Aside from teaching at WTI, Sara is a mother to five children and one grandchild. She loves to hunt, garden, bake, craft and sew all while raising her chickens with her husband and family!

Thanks for everything you do Sara! WTI loves having you as a part of our instructor family!

By far my favorite instructor. I couldn't have made it through school without her support! I also wouldn't have the job I love without her encouragement. She's amazing! I feel very lucky to have been her student!

I feel very fortunate to be her grandmother. Share I'm very proud of you and what you do and what you have done you keep on keeping on and know that I will all of always love you. your Grandma Neff is 💝⭐
