TYPES OF FINANCIAL AID

Federal Pell Grant

Pell Grants are awarded to students to help them pay for their undergraduate education. For many, these grants provide a foundation of financial aid to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources may be added. Pell Grants do not have to be repaid.

Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan

The Federal Government pays the interest while you are in school.

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans

The Federal Government does not pay your interest. Therefore, the interest begins to accrue immediately and is billed quarterly. You may pay the interest while in school or you may choose to have it capitalized.

Direct PLUS Loan

This is a loan for parents of dependent undergraduate students. Parents with a good credit history may receive these loans. Eligibility is not based on financial need. Parents may use a PLUS loan to borrow the entire cost of attendance, less other aid their child receives.

Military Tuition Assistance

Military Tuition Assistance is a benefit paid to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application process and restrictions. WTI students may be eligible to utilize the Military Tuition Assistance program along with a GI Bill® benefit. To determine eligibility, please contact WTI or your unit’s education liaison. GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

GI Bill®

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Students who qualify for GI Bill® benefits may use those benefits to cover the cost of education. WTI students may be eligible to receive either Post 9/11 or Montgomery GI Bill® benefits. To determine eligibility, please contact WTI or your Veterans Administration Office.

Military Award Program

We also offer the Imagine America Military Award Program (MAP), a career education award available to any qualified active duty, reservist, honorably discharged or retired veteran of a United States military service branch. If you’re interested in this award, you must meet the following qualifications before applying:
