For the Computer Technology student, you smile in the face of adversity! The solution to your problem may not be obvious or easy, but rest-assured, the answer is out there. Problems may be complex and answers may not be readily available, but those in the Computer Technology field realize that success can be determined by how you tackle the problem. Remember – be patient with yourself, and more importantly, with others!
2. You work well with others – In this field you will undoubtedly be working with others on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Your job tasks may range from installing programs to supporting local or wide area networks. While graduation from this program may have made this all seem fairly simple and run-of-the-mill to you, be careful not to alienate people with your vernacular, and make sure to explain things in a way that is easily digestible. People will have a greater respect for you and what you do for a living if you are able to explain things in a simple, non-confusing way.
3. You pay attention to detail – In this industry, there a million little things that can (and will) go wrong. Computers are complex, and those complexities lead to intricate solutions. It is vital in the Computer Technology career field that you pay attention to minor details. Remember to stay organized! As you observe things in your day-to-day interactions with people AND computers, make observations and begin to piece together the intricacies that make this career so fascinating.
